Have you ever heard the shocking statistics about the devastation in Africa and felt too overwhelmed to even try to help?

Well now there is a way! The Bethany House is a 4,500 square foot home being constructed in Uganda, Africa for orphan babies between the ages of zero and four years old. The first years of a child’s life are the most critical in their developmental process. The purpose of this home will be to make these years the foundation for what their lives will become. Our goal is to walk these babies from infancy into adulthood where they will be the leaders of their generation. These children will know how to live and to love because of what they have experienced in their childhood.
Uganda is a beautiful nation full of breathtaking people and lavished natural resources. Unfortunately these people have been ravaged by evil dictatorship, civil war and the deadly AIDS epidemic. An estimated 2.4 million children have been orphaned by these calamities. This nation has stood against all odds and the people are fervently working to give their children a better tomorrow. The day to day reality of each Ugandan child is deadly diseases, savage wars, no parental figures and not even the most basic of modern necessities.  Ugandans are resilient and hold on to the dream of a bright future, but they need our help. By the minute babies are orphaned and left for dead. Our world has begun to turn their eyes to the continent of Africa and help is on the way. Non profit organizations are overran with children in need, the government is doing all that they can although it is still not enough. We must each begin to think of the people of Africa not as strangers but as our neighbors. Our neighbors who are created in the same image of God that we are.

Founder Bethany Cravalho at the age of five was overtaken with the dream of bringing restoration to the nation of Uganda. The Bethany House is the first step to this dream being completed.  In January of 2008 we set the goal of $86,000.00 to complete this project. Within six months our goal was met. Unfortunately, wars in Africa have caused the cost of supplies to raise drastically. This means it is time for us to regroup and rise to the challenge! Today we are asking you to answer the cry of a generation left abandoned by HIV, poverty and war.
